Robert Sutton

Robert I. Sutton is an organisational psychologist, bestselling author, and Professor Emeritus at Stanford. He has published over 200 scholarly articles and eight books, including New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestsellers “The No Asshole Rule,” and “Good Boss, Bad Boss,” and Wall Street Journal bestseller “Scaling Up Excellence.” His latest book is “The Friction Project” co-authored with Huggy Rao. Sutton's main focus is on leadership, innovation, and eliminating destructive friction in organisations. He co-founded the Stanford Technology Ventures Program and Stanford d.school.

Sutton has advised top companies like McKinsey, Bain & Company, and Microsoft, and served on the World Economic Forum faculty. His honors include the Academy of Management Journal’s Hall of Fame and the Sumantra Ghoshal Award for rigorous and relevant management research from London Business School. His research is frequently featured in major media outlets like The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and, as well as keynote speaking commitments, he's appeared on shows including the TODAY Show and NPR's Hidden Brain podcast.
